Keith's Weekly Insights Tip #13--Smart vs Hard Here is a quick way for you to see if you are working smart. On your daily to do list (please tell me you have a daily to do list), color code your revenue producing tasks in green and your non revenue producing tasks in red. I kept track of this list for two weeks. At the end of two weeks, I found that my red marks outnumbered my green marks by about 2 to 1. Not good. As a owner, sales person or employee in a business its easy to get wrapped up in tasks that may seem important; but, when you put them to a quick and dirty litmus test, like the one just described, you realize you are off course. Once I saw how much time I was spending on non revenue producing tasks, it was easy to flip the switch. Within a week my green marks outnumbered my red marks 2 to 1. Give it a go and see where you are spending your time.
